Basic Blood Work blood tube

Have you ever wondered what goes on in your body? What is happening regarding your biochemistry, and what Basic Blood Work do you need? Well, having your blood analyzed is a good place to start.

What is Basic Blood Work?

Annual blood work may seem like overkill because it is recommended every 3 years. But if you monitor your blood, including functional lab tests—which we will discuss later—and hair and saliva analysis, you’ll have a greater chance of staying on top of your health in the long run.

If something is off, it is best to seek action and get help to correct it. So many of us leave our health issues alone, hoping they will go away. But will they? Will a health issue just go away? Well, that is another subject about the mind-body connection and how energy works, which is always good to ponder. So we should also do that at another time.

Regardless of your health status, getting a baseline blood reading can help you become more aware of your health on a cellular level.

The following is a list of Basic Blood Work you should consider having done.

I recommend using these numbers as a baseline of Basic Blood Work and reviewing your health status by comparing your results year to year.

You must fast for at least 10 hours to accurately measure your blood glucose or sugar level and cholesterol levels. So do not eat, but do drink water. Drinking water is always good before a blood draw, as it helps hydrate your vein, which makes it easier to draw blood.

If you would like help getting your blood analyzed, please contact me. I can work around the country with a lab draw center, and we can find a lab near you.

I also have the opportunity to get lab work conducted at a discount, so you do not have to pay premium insurance or hospital prices for the job. If you already have lab work done and need some help, contact me, and we can look it over together and consult by phone.

Basics Blood Work to Consider:

  • CBC (complete blood chemistry) with WBC (white blood cells) differential and platelets
  • CMP, which is a comprehensive metabolism panel
  • Lipid panel to review cholesterol levels
  • Thyroid panel including thyroid antibody level
    TSH (2), T3 (<3-4) T4 (1-2), Reverse T3
    TPO AB, TG AB
  • Cardio cardiovascular looks and inflammation and cofactors for cholesterol production
    Cardiac CRP, PLAC, Lp(a)
    Homocysteine, fibrinogen
  • Vitamin D levels
    25 OH-D (40-50)
  • Sugar and blood glucose levels bound to hemoglobin
Insulin, HGB A1C (if you need blood sugar support, please click here)
  • Another blood test to include help provide additional information
    pH, ionized calcium, DHEA-S

These are standard medical blood tests and Basic Blood Work. If you find that one or more is abnormal, seek a consult with a naturopathic or functional medical doctor. We can truly support the body on a functional level and help you readjust back into balance.

Functional lab work testing really helps in assessing health status. This is where we examine saliva, urine, and stools to get an even more precise picture of what is going on.

I will look at these Basic Blood Work tests individually over time to get a picture of your adrenals, amino acids, nutritional status, and toxic heavy metal load with a hair analysis.
