How to Enter the Heart and Spirit of your Soul
Begin by performing some sort of devotional practice. Chose something that feels right for you like waving a light or candle, lighting and burning incense, bowing – which is a posture of surrender and invitation to grace…
Sit in an upright, strong and grounded meditation posture. This is accomplished by grounding your sitting bones and lifting up through your spine with the help of your breath.
Form a strong intention to be in relationship with your Self. Meditate on your-Self in what ever form the vital energy or spirit reveals itself to you during your mediation.
Focus on you breathing. Breathe into each part of your body starting at your feet and leading to the crown of your head. Become aware of any tension or tightness as you breathe, releasing it as you exhale. Pay special attention to our belly, the back and shoulder and your face.
Invite the spirit energy (God, Great Spirit, Guru) that you feel into your meditation. Invoke this presence and ask for their Grace. A prayer well help invoke this energy for example, “I offer my meditation to you and ask that you support my mediation in this moment”, or “Please grant me the grace to enter my Self in this meditation”, or “May your Grace infuse my meditation today”.
Practice focusing on your breath or on a mantra (or whatever centering practice you prefer) until the surface agitation of the mind becomes calmer and centered.
Allow yourself to become aware of the energy or pulsation of awareness in your body. Focus this energy in either your heart or the ajna chakra located between the eyes. Breath with in this space. Offer your love and respect to this energy.
Once you feel connected to your source energy, ask her how she wants you to experience this meditation today. You may receive a hint, an inner intuition or an impulse in a certain way to practice.
Throughout this process be aware of whatever arises in your inner world as a manifestation of the universal energy. Your entire experience is a manifestation of consciousness. This includes your thoughts and feelings, images, emotions, physical sensations, sounds, your breath or the feeling of air against your skin. Whatever comes up, see them as your Self.
Allow your meditation to be permeated with the remembrance of the oneness of your Self, your inner consciousness and its connection to the great universal consciousness.
Slowly come out for your meditation by watching your breath. It is a good idea to write immediately in your journal. Actually writing from your meditative state, when you immediately coming out, will reveal the pattern of your growth and inner state. Remember to have fun with this process.
Meditation is an act of love, an act of relationship to your inner Self. Allow yourself to be with yourself in direct line with the greater or higher Self.
